Fox Valley Toys for Tots
The Fox Valley Toys for Tots program was created through authorization by the Toys for Tots Foundation in Alexandria Virginia as a Local Community Organization or LCO.
The LCO covers the Fox Valley area and extends from I-90 on the north to Yorkville (Rt. 71) on the south and from Rt. 59 on the east to Rt. 47 on the west. In the north section of the coverage area, the Elgin Detachment #077 handles I-90 south to South Elgin. The Fox Valley Marines Detachment #1233 covers St. Charles to Yorkville. These areas includes the majority of Kane County, small parts of Western DuPage County, and Kendall County. Click here for area coverage map
During the Christmas season, toys are collected at drop-off sites throughout the coverage areas, picked up by Marine Corps League members, their families and volunteers, then stored and eventually distributed through charitable organizations such as Catholic Charities, People For Child Care, Smart Steps, 2 Rivers Head Start, Embrace a Family and many more. Also, some of the area Township offices are involved in the distribution of toys.
CAMPAIGN WRAP UP
A huge and heart felt thank you to all who participated in the 2009 campaign, both in being so generous in difficult times and those who braved the weather during the last week to pick up the toys from the donation sites.
The 2010 Campaign year is upon us and will hold some changes in this site. Online registration forms for Organization are available through this site. Information about registration with local organizations will be upcoming shortly.
